It Happened in China by ~Proudchinese:iconProudchinese:

These words a true, these numbers real,
But none as truthful as They feel.
The flood is made of human tears
So shut your mouths and face your fears.

They have the right to say that you
Are like a tiger in a zoo.
You’ve never felt the scorching sun
Or heard the hunter’s deadly gun.

You build your homes from golden beams
All strong enough to hold up dreams,
But somewhere else dreams don’t come true
The way your fondest wishes do.

Perhaps you’ll never see Their hands
Reaching out for distant lands.
For underneath the rubble lies
Loved ones who will never rise.

So know that it happened in China.

Isn't it sad that the only thing that stops the world from bashing China is an earthquake that makes 22,000 people die?

*Cries. Badly*

But...

A university student ran 100 km home on foot and dug up her family from the fallen house. They all survived.

Two boys buried with the rest of their panicking class dug out of the broken pieces of their high school and saved the rest of the class.

And thousands of other stories.

Pray if you're religious.
Donate if you're rich.
Tell others if you're talkative.

Promise the dead you will never die.

Beautifully written. This is such a difficult subject to find words for and you did it very well :+fav:

Thank you. I think I was more angry than sad at the moment of writing it, so maybe the words sort of came out of a mixture of anger and love, which is a useful combination.
Thanks! It's good to know that you and many others care too.
No prob. Anyway, I hope that the supplies my county(s) sent (check my journal) helped the China victims! Oh well, at least the boy from the Earthquake managed to go to the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics...
